Good morning everyone, hope you’re all well, I also hope you all managed to have a good Christmas despite everything that is happening in the world. I wish I could say that we did but unfortunately me and my family caught the flu bug that’s been going around, so we’ve spent all of Christmas feeling very run down and full of cold, which has actually continued into the New Year as well, except with the added bonus of having aching bones and painful headaches. We would try the Doctors either in person or through a telephone consultation but unfortunately both are an impossible task to do as there’s either no appointments or you have to spend hours on the phone waiting when other things need doing, so we’ve just had to try and power through it and do what we can to get better on our own, like wrap up in layers to keep warm because the cost of keeping the heating on is still a problem (for everyone) and our place doesn’t heat anyway when we’ve tried previously, and having warm drinks and over-the-counter medicines etc… so far nothing is working, but we will soldier on.
Speaking of New Year, let’s move on to this weeks post… Each new year offers an exciting opportunity for a fresh start and new beginnings, which is probably why we all look forward to New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day so much. No matter what your goals are for the coming year or how many new year’s resolutions you plan on making for 2023, ringing in the start of a new year is a moment to acknowledge. One, to celebrate all of your experiences from 2022; and two, to welcome the new year ahead.

“Each new year, we have before us a brand new book containing 365 blank pages. Let us fill them with all the forgotten things from last year — the words we forgot to say, the love we forgot to show, and the charity we forgot to offer.” — Peggy Toney Horton

“Well, we have a whole new year ahead of us. And wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all be a little more gentle with each other, a little more loving, and have a little more empathy, and maybe, next year at this time we’d like each other a little more.” — Judy Garland
