Hope you’re all doing ok!
If you can remember from a couple of my previous posts, that I cut my leg pretty bad, well it’s now finally starting to heal, thankfully! Unfortunately, as I said last week, I still can’t walk on it, and that’s still the same as of today, I’m not sure if I’ve bruised the bone with the way I fell on it.
Anyway, about today’s post! I went on holiday to Sidari sometime during my childhood, and it has always been one of my favourite places that we vacationed to, the best thing was that we made quite a few friends, which made the holiday even better! So I would definitely recommend Sidari to anyone ☺
Sidari
About:
Sidari is a very popular tourist resort on the north coast of Corfu. It’s around 35km from both the capital Kerkyra and the airport. This means the estimated travel time is between 45↔48mins.
Sidari caters to holidaymakers, with many hotels, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, souvenir shops and even a campsite just outside the town. All this makes it perfect for those that simply want to stay close to their hotel whilst visiting many different places for lunch, dinner or evening drinks.
What to do:
If you love the water, why not try some banana boating or diving? Banana boating is great for families and couples because it’s something you can do with multiple people. You can also go go-karting in Sidari or hop on a horse for an adventurous trek through the lush green countryside.
Beach:
There are 3 most important beaches; one of those is the famous Canal D’amour.
The Canal d’Amour of Sidari consists of some rocky cliffs that shape a particular sea channel and some nice bays you can reach by several paths. To reach this beach you just have to pass the village and proceed towards Peroulades. You’ll find on your right a small sign for the beach. The other two beaches consist of a very long sandy bay and a smaller one very beautiful surrounded by stones shaped by the wind.
This small bay is very particular and recess with a lot of privacy.
Water Park:
The Sidari Water Park is attached to the hotel of the same name located in the north-west village of Sidari. It’s walkable from the town centre or it’s a 50mins drive from the capital.
Guests receive free entry to the water park, which features several slides and 2 outdoor pools. Sidari Waterpark is equipped with a covered games area, featuring pool tables, air hockey and table football. The hotel also has an internet café, a garden and a children’s playground.
Nightlife:
Sidari offers a vast array of evening entertainment, with some places having live music, Greek dancing, plate smashing or Karaoke. There’s also plenty of cocktail bars and even some clubs that are open late into the night.
For night you can choose between traditional restaurants or international cuisine and then you can drink a cocktail or dance in a disco club till late.
Moreover, many tourist shops are open till late in the night and it can be nice for a shopping night.
Where To Stay:
One of the most recommended hotels to stay at is the Terezas Hotel. It’s located 700 meters from the centre of the beautiful Sidari village on the North-West part of Corfu. The hotel is only 650 meters from the shortest beach and 800 meters from the famous unique bay of Canal D’ Am.
The hotel offers a variety of facilities, ideal for relaxing, enjoying the wonderful lush green Corfiot landscape, the local customs & culture and of course the delicious Greek & Corfiot Cuisine. All rooms have their own kitchenette, air-condition, daily cleaning service.
Food & Drink:
Sidari has many restaurants offering a wide variety of food. Holidaymakers will find both authentic Greek fare and Western staples.
For the evening meal, Greek tavernas serve specialities as Donner kebab, Mousaka, Stuffed Tomatoes, Steaks, Spaghetti, Tzatziki, Feta, Greek Salad. A lot of Restaurants and Greek Tavernas you will find in all tourist areas of Corfu.
Sidari really is a beautiful place to go to for a vacation, my family and I had such a great time! Enjoy the rest of your week and I will see you next time ♥
