(Italian) Buongiorno a tutti!, (English translation: Good morning everyone!) hope you’re all ok.
On Monday, I received a letter in the post from the hospital informing me of an upcoming appointment that has been made for me, to have an Electroencephalography (EEG) test to check my brainwaves to see if they can determine a diagnosis for what’s happening to me at the moment. I have to wait two weeks until the actual test to be done, but I am so grateful they’ve have got it done so quickly.
Apart from receiving my hospital letter, I’ve been feeling a little glum over the weekend, due to being run down with a cold and trying to help to make sure the house didn’t flood from the downpour of rain that we had, as the maintenance guys couldn’t fix the roof/ceiling until it had rained so they could determine the cause of the problem. Thankfully, it’s now been fixed and we don’t have a hole anymore! But going back to the beginning of this paragraph, I needed some cheering up, so I looked up some happiness quotes to help motivate me again, and weirdly enough I found out that it’s actually Happiness Happens Month, so I thought I would share with you some of the quotes that made me stop feeling sad.
“Happiness is a direction, not a place.” — Sydney J. Harris
“Happiness is being content with what you have, living in freedom and liberty, having a good family life and good friends.” – Divyanka Tripathi
“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.” ― Tom Bodett
“Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.” ― Guillaume Apollinaire
“A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbour — such is my idea of happiness.” ― Leo Tolstoy, Family Happiness
“The more you feed your mind with positive thoughts, the more you can attract great things into your life.” ― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
“Happiness is an accident of nature, a beautiful and flawless aberration.” ― Pat Conroy, The Lords of Discipline
“I think happiness is what makes you pretty. Period. Happy people are beautiful. They become like a mirror and they reflect that happiness.” ― Drew Barrymore
“This life is yours. Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well. Take the power to love what you want in life and love it honestly. Take the power to walk in the forest and be a part of nature. Take the power to control your own life. No one else can do it for you. Take the power to make your life happy.” ― Susan Polis Schutz
“Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting some on yourself.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
If you’re feeling down or just need something to make you smile, I hope one of these quotes can help. Have a wonderful week, and until next time, I’m gonna leave you with one last quote that really helped me…..
“Why Not You?
Today, many will awaken with a fresh sense of inspiration. Why not you?
Today, many will open their eyes to the beauty that surrounds them. Why not you?
Today, many will choose to leave the ghost of yesterday behind and seize the immeasurable power of today. Why not you?
Today, many will break through the barriers of the past by looking at the blessings of the present. Why not you?
Today, for many the burden of self-doubt and insecurity will be lifted by the security and confidence of empowerment. Why not you?
Today, many will rise above their believed limitations and make contact with their powerful innate strength. Why not you?
Today, many will choose to live in such a manner that they will be a positive role model for their children. Why not you?
Today, many will choose to free themselves from the personal imprisonment of their bad habits. Why not you?
Today, many will choose to live free of conditions and rules governing their own happiness. Why not you?
Today, many will find abundance in simplicity. Why not you?
Today, many will be confronted by difficult moral choices and they will choose to do what is right instead of what is beneficial. Why not you?
Today, many will decide to no longer sit back with a victim mentality, but to take charge of their lives and make positive changes. Why not you?
Today, many will take the action necessary to make a difference. Why not you?
Today, many will make the commitment to be a better mother, father, son, daughter, student, teacher, worker, boss, brother, sister, & so much more. Why not you?
Today is a new day!
Many will seize this day.
Many will live it to the fullest.
Why not you?”
