Hello guys, how are you all doing? 💛 I hope you’re all having a lovely week and that you’ve been keeping well, despite the rather unpredictable British weather we’ve been having lately! 🇬🇧☀️🌧️ Welcome back to another post here on Peyton’s View, and if you’re new around here, then a very warm welcome to you too! Grab yourself a drink ☕, get comfortable, and let’s have a little catch-up, because it’s been quite an interesting couple of weeks for me!
To start with, my mum has recently started going to the gym that’s connected to our doctors’ surgery, to help her work on her back and posture. It’s something she’s been giving a go, and I’m really pleased to say that she’s actually been really enjoying it so far! 😊 One thing that’s made me particularly happy is hearing about how lovely and encouraging her health coach has been. He’s never pushed her when something has become too much, and instead seems to understand that everyone has different limits and needs to work at their own pace. She’s also built up a really good rapport with him, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying something new. 💪😊 I think having someone there who makes you feel comfortable, listens to you, and encourages you without pressuring you can make a huge difference. It’s lovely seeing Mum finding something that she enjoys, and that could hopefully help her feel stronger, especially with her back and posture too.
And then there’s the weather… because, of course, we can’t have a British blog starter without talking about the weather! 😂🇬🇧 We’ve had some pretty intense spells of heat recently, with those proper “is it actually this hot in the UK?” kind of days! ☀️🥵 There’s something quite funny about how quickly we Brits go from complaining that summer has disappeared to desperately searching for the nearest fan, closing the curtains and wondering why we don’t have air conditioning! 😂 Of course, the heat can be lovely when you’re able to enjoy it, but when temperatures get particularly high, it can become a bit uncomfortable, too. And because this is Britain, naturally we can’t seem to settle on one type of weather for very long! One minute we’re experiencing a heatwave and the next we’re wondering whether we should have brought an umbrella. 🌧️☀️ Still, I suppose that’s part of the charm of a British summer. You never quite know what you’re going to get, so when the sunshine does appear, you might as well appreciate it while it’s here! 🌻
Unfortunately, the last couple of weeks haven’t all been sunshine and happy moments, because I ended up at the hospital twice last week after rather badly injuring my foot. 🦶😫The first visit was only a couple of hours after the incident, and after having multiple X-rays, I was told that I had a deep contusion within my foot. The bruising and swelling had already started by that point, so it was pretty evident that my foot had taken quite a knock. It was already looking rather nasty, but I certainly didn’t expect things to develop quite as much as they did afterwards. Around 24 hours later, my foot became numb, the swelling increased considerably, and the bruising became much more extensive and started spreading. So, five days after the initial visit, I ended up back at the hospital to have it looked at again. This time, alongside the contusion, they also found that I had developed neurapraxia. I’m not going to lie, my foot still doesn’t look or feel right at all. 😫 The swelling is still significant, and somehow my injured foot is now around three times the size of my other foot, which is quite a sight! I genuinely didn’t think it could possibly get any more swollen than it originally was, but apparently my foot had other ideas! 🤦♀️🦶 I’m keeping a close eye on it, and if things don’t start improving, another X-ray may well be on the cards.
And then there was Saturday, which was a particularly difficult day for my dad. 💔 July and August can be particularly hard months for me emotionally, and I don’t know whether I’ve mentioned it before, but during these months I often turn to my trusty old method of comfort: animated films. 🎬💛 There’s something about sitting down with a familiar film, especially one you’ve watched countless times before, that can provide a little bit of escapism when things feel difficult. This Saturday was especially emotional because it marked five years since we lost my nan — my dad’s mum. Five years somehow sounds like such a long time, but anniversaries like this have a funny way of reminding you that grief doesn’t simply disappear because time has passed. There are still certain days, memories, songs, films and little things that can bring someone straight back into your thoughts. 🥹💔So, knowing that Saturday was particularly difficult for Dad, we decided to do what we could to make the day a little easier and put on one of his favourite Disney films — The Lion King. 🦁👑 There’s something rather comforting about watching a film you already know and love, especially when you’re watching it together. Sometimes you don’t need to have a big conversation or find the perfect words; simply being there, sharing a film and having that bit of company can be enough. ❤️
I think that’s something I’ve come to appreciate more and more. When someone you love is missing someone they love, you can’t take their grief away for them. You can’t change what happened five years ago. But you can sit beside them, make them a cup of tea, put on their favourite film and remind them that they don’t have to get through those difficult moments completely alone. 🥹❤️And perhaps that’s what those little comforting things are really about — finding tiny pieces of light during the darker moments. Whether that’s a favourite film, a familiar song, a beautiful sunset, a cup of tea, a good memory, or simply a little bit of sunshine through the window. ☀️💛Which leads me nicely into this week’s post, because after everything that’s happened recently, I thought it would be lovely to focus on some of those little moments of light, happiness and warmth — and what better way to do that than with 31 days of sunshine, in the form of 31 summer quotes? 🌻☀️So, this week we’re going to be celebrating 31 Days of Sunshine — a collection of summer quotes designed to bring a little warmth, happiness and positivity to each day of August. 🌞✨

I’ve always thought there was something rather magical about summer. It’s not necessarily about having perfect weather, going on amazing holidays, or doing something exciting every single day. Sometimes summer is simply a warm afternoon, a beautiful sunset, flowers blooming, birds singing, a trip to the seaside, or sitting outside and enjoying a little bit of peace. 🌸🌊 So, rather than putting together another ordinary collection of summer quotes, I thought I’d do something a little different this year. 31 days, 31 quotes, and 31 little reminders to find some sunshine wherever we can. ☀️✨
Some of these quotes will be about sunshine and summer itself, while others are about happiness, memories, adventure, friendship, slowing down, and appreciating the little things. So, whether you’re reading this on a sunny August afternoon, a rainy day when you’re wishing for summer, or perhaps even long after August has finished, I hope these words bring a little warmth to your day.
Let’s begin… 🌻
🌞 The Beginning of Summer
The beginning of our summer journey is all about that feeling of excitement when the days are longer, the evenings become lighter, and everything seems just a little brighter.
☀️ Day 1 — Hello, Summer
🌻 Day 2 — Sunshine

🌸 Day 3 — Little Things
🌊 Day 4 — Freedom
“Summer feels like freedom written across a longer day.” ~ Benjamin Alire Sáenz

🌻 The Heart of Summer
And with that, we’ve reached the end of the first part of our journey. We’ve said hello to summer, but now it’s time to really settle into it. Now we’re right in the middle of our summer journey. This is where the quotes become a little more about living in the moment — making memories, finding joy, appreciating nature, and enjoying the people and places around us.
🌊 Day 11 — The Sea
🌸 Day 12 — Joy
“Collect moments of joy, not reasons to wait for them.” ~ Unknown
🌅 Day 13 — Sunset
💛 Day 14 — Memories

🌻 Day 15 — Adventure

🌊 Day 20 — Chasing Sunsets
“Chase sunsets, not perfection.” ~ Anonymous Proverb
☀️ Day 21 — The Little Things
🌅 Holding Onto Summer
And somehow, we’ve reached the final part of our journey. August has a funny way of making us realise that summer won’t last forever. The evenings slowly begin to change, the days start getting shorter, and before we know it, autumn will be waiting around the corner.
But perhaps that’s exactly why summer feels so precious.
🌻 Day 22 — Slow Down
“Before summer ends, remember to pause and enjoy the season you’re in.” ~ Unknown
🌅 Day 23 — Golden Evenings
💛 Day 24 — Gratitude
“Be grateful for the moments you didn’t know would become memories.” ~ Author Unknown
🌸 Day 25 — Summer Flowers
🌞 Day 26 — Keep the Sunshine
“Summer may end, but the sunshine we found within it doesn’t have to.” ~ Unknown
🌊 Day 27 — Somewhere Beautiful

🦋 Day 28 — Change
“Every season has something to teach us, even the ones we aren’t ready to leave behind.” ~ Anonymous
🌅 Day 29 — Remember

☀️ Day 30 — Thank You, Summer
“Thank you, summer, for the sunshine, the memories, and all the little moments in between.” ~ Unknown
🌅 Day 31 — Until Next Summer

Final Words
And just like that, our 31 Days of Sunshine have come to an end. ☀️💛
I hope these 31 quotes have reminded you that summer isn’t necessarily about having the perfect holiday, visiting the most beautiful places, or filling every single day with exciting plans. Sometimes it’s about the tiny moments — the sunlight through the window, a beautiful sky, flowers in bloom, a peaceful evening, a favourite song, a good conversation, or simply having a moment where everything feels okay. 🌻 Summer will eventually give way to autumn, just as every season eventually gives way to another. But that doesn’t mean we have to leave the sunshine behind. We can take our favourite memories, photographs, experiences and little moments of happiness with us and carry them into whatever comes next. 🍂☀️ So, before we close the door on August, take a moment to think about your favourite summer memory. Maybe it was a holiday, a day at the seaside, a sunset, a family moment, or something incredibly simple that made you smile. Whatever it was, I hope you keep it close. 💛
And before you head off, I just want to say a huge thank you for spending a little bit of your time here with me today. 🥹💛 Whether you’ve been reading Peyton’s View for years or you’ve only just discovered my little corner of the internet, it genuinely means so much to know that you’re here. Every view, every comment, every kind message, and every person who takes a few minutes out of their day to read what I’ve written reminds me why I love sharing these little pieces of my life with you. ☀️🌻So, thank you for joining me for these 31 Days of Sunshine, for bringing a little bit of sunshine into my day simply by being here, and for allowing me to share a little bit of summer with you. Until next time, take care, look after yourselves, and remember to find a little sunshine wherever you can. 💛☀️

The kindest sunshine radiates from the heart, delivered with a smile.

This is such a warm, honest, and beautifully heartfelt post. What makes it special is that it does not pretend that life is always sunny. Instead, it reminds us that even during difficult days, we can find small moments of light.
I particularly appreciated the way the post begins with everyday happiness—your mum discovering confidence and enjoyment at the gym, supported by a patient and understanding health coach. It is a lovely reminder that encouragement works best when it comes with kindness rather than pressure.
