Good morning, how are you guys? Doing good hopefully. Its not been the best of weeks for me and my family unfortunately, I mentioned in last week’s post that my mum and I couldn’t go with my dad to my Auntie Linda’s funeral due to the long travel and it being too much for my shoulder which I have my second appointment at Physio for on Friday (that’s going to be painful as it keeps cracking whilst I do the exercises), well sadly my dad couldn’t go either as he was struck down the night before from one of the many viruses going around leaving him bedridden the whole day, he’s still not fully better now but he’s managing. Then my mum is having to go under medical investigation for something that I’m praying is not serious as they are quite concerned about what’s happening with her body. So, whilst we as a family have been dealing with that, we then got the added stress of being threatened by our housing coordinator which at the moment is still an ongoing issue. But one good thing did happen, my little cousin has won 2 awards over the last couple of weeks for different things at his school, one of them being – excelling at speedy reading in Phonics, to say we are beyond proud of him is an understatement.
Moving on to this week’s post… Romance can be many things to many people, but few can resist the allure of a romantic escape for two. While there’s no wrong answer when it comes to romance, some of the world’s most beautiful spots lend themselves to catering to couples, especially when it comes to hotels. So whether you’re planning a honeymoon, an anniversary or a weekend getaway, or need a little inspiration for a Valentines day treat just because, here are some top choices for the most romantic places in the world.

Romantic getaways are forever sought after by the young and old. And what could be more romantic than waking up to the sight of a palm-fringed beach with waters so pure you could mistake them for gin? Or, perhaps a candle-lit alfresco dining experience in a pine forest by the sea is your slice of heaven. One of the most rewarding aspects of being in a relationship is being able to enjoy such moments in the company of another. In a world where every experience you can imagine is possible, the biggest challenge is committing to that one romantic destination that will expand both of your horizons, bring you closer together and uncover sides of your partner you never knew existed.
Paris, France

When it comes to a romantic city break it’s hard not to have all eyes on Paris. The clichés can’t help but ring true when exploring the city, from serene strolls along the Seine to a glass of wine with a view at one of the best rooftop bars in Paris. And then there are the hotels in Paris, amongst some of the best in the world, sublime in their views, old-world charm and effortlessly chic interiors. With an array of iconic landmarks to choose from – the Eiffel Tower, the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Louvre Pyramid – and charming cafes on every street corner, it’s no wonder that the French capital is synonymous with romance.
Saint Lucia, Caribbean

The volcanic island of Saint Lucia is renowned for its twin mountains, otherwise known as ‘The Pitons’, its tropical weather and lush terrain it also has volcanic beaches, reef-diving sites, luxury resorts, and fishing villages. There are so many things to do there, including hiking Tet Paul Nature Trail, exploring Mamiku Gardens, or taking a drive to the Soufriere Drive-in Volcano, where you can explore bubbling sulfur springs in the caldera of the dormant Qualibou volcano. Enjoy an exclusive private dining experience overlooking the majestic Caribbean waters at Cap Maison or take a sunset cruise or encounter more than 30 species of whales and dolphins that frolic in the Saint Lucian waters.
Seychelles, Africa

If you’re looking for a secluded getaway with lush tropical vegetation and pristine beaches, then look no further than this archipelago – comprising more than 100 islands – in the Indian Ocean. If you’re seeking tranquility, Anse Georgette will likely pique your interest, while Curieuse Island is home to some impressive marine life. Perhaps the best aspect of coming here is that you can easily hop from one island to the next while indulging in a handful of ultra-luxe resorts at each destination. Plus, you’ll want to bathe in the warmth of the waters as much as the local hospitality for which Seychelles is renowned.
Amalfi Coast, Italy

From the naturally blessed shores of Lake Como right down to Sicily’s heart-melting capital Palermo, you could throw a dart anywhere on a map of Italy and land on one of the most romantic places in the world. It’s spurred on much debate within the team but if we had to choose just one fuzzy-eyed spot in Italy, it’s the Amalfi Coast. We’re not alone in our admiration either. The Greeks, so taken by the area’s natural beauty, attributed it to a nymph who captivated the heart of Hercules. The towns of Amalfi Coast only add to the charm, with brightly hued houses dotted along the rocking hillside, each offering a unique outlook along with shops, restaurants and swimming spots that are up for discovery.
The Maldives

Confetti bursts of colorful tropical fish in gin-clear lagoons, freshly prepared breakfast spreads delivered to your private pool via floating trays, sipping a morning coffee while a manta ray soars underneath your feet – it’s the stuff of honeymoon dreams and the much lauded reality of a trip to the Maldives. While there are plenty of family-friendly hotels in the Maldives, few places can compare to the archipelago country’s innate sense for romance and adults-only stays. Boutique stays and lo-fi bolt holes area rarity here, instead the best hotels in the Maldives are world class, spread out on their own private islands, nestling state-of-the-art spas and multiple restaurants amongst lush jungles, pristine beaches and house reefs.
Santorini, Greece

Santorini is the knockout Greek island – the island with the best views, the best sunsets, and the best hotels. Combine all of these elements and it’s a recipe for one of the most romantic spots in the world. Days are best spent out on the water, sailing to nearby islands and hopping between the best beaches in Santorini. But then again you could easily stay at one of the best hotels in Santorini – where private infinity pools boast the best seats in the house – and never want to leave.
Bali, Indonesia

Bali is beloved as the land of a million islands, misty, mythical mountainous stacks, and chilled-out beach clubs. It’s also the land of some of the most beautiful places to stay in the world. No matter how many five-star hotels open up though, Bali is no homogenized island resort. It’s a magical, spiritual place, which manages to retain its authenticity and culture, as well as its unspoilt beaches and green tropical landscapes. All essential ingredients for a romantic stay.
Scotland

Wander through the green rolling hills and sheep pastures, and take in the history in this beautiful country. Try taking a hike up to Arthur’s Seat for sweeping views, check out Edinburgh’s Old Town for quaint architecture and fun museums (such as the Writers’ Museum), and wander down the Royal Mile to take in street performers. Be sure to stop at a whiskey distillery for a sip or two — try Highland Park or Old Pulteney — and consider staying at Gleneagles Hotel, which sits on a 850-acre estate and has its own train station.
Kyoto, Japan

Tokyo’s vast urban sprawl might catch most of the crowds, but if you’re looking for a Japanese city for romance, Kyoto is your best bet. Japan’s historic and cultural capital, Kyoto’s choc-full of Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, traditional ryokan and stately gardens. But it’s more than just history: the food is some of Japan’s finest, the people are welcoming and the scenery, in a bowl of mountains, is spectacular. This is Japan at its most romantic – it’s no wonder Kyoto has become such a proposal hotspot in recent years.
Venice, Italy

. No city on the planet encapsulates the idyllic concept of romance quite like Venetian capital. Beauty lurks around every corner here, from sunrise to sunset and beyond, with narrow canals and Renaissance architecture transporting visitors to a rose-tinted wonderland. The romantic restaurants don’t hurt, while the many, many bridges seem tailor-made for proclamations of passion. All this without mentioning the inherent romance of a gondola ride? Venice is a city for lovers, old and young.
Maui, Hawaii

Maui is the perfect destination for couples in search of a beach vacation filled with unique activities. The island of Maui invites couples to immerse themselves wholeheartedly in a vibrant culture alongside exclusive adventures to make memories that will surely last a lifetime. Whether proposing or seeking unique bonding experiences, Mount Haleakala’s summit at sunrise is a-must while the evening is best spent enjoying a sunset cruise with a Luau feast – a traditional Hawaiian celebration. Also check out snorkeling at Black Rock on Kaanapali Beach, view hidden parts of the island on a helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, and tour local farms on the slopes of Haleakala like Ocean Organic Vodka, Surfing Goat Dairy, and the Alii Lavender Farm.
Marrakech, Morocco

This city in western Morocco is filled with history, mosques, palaces, and gardens. Take a romantic vacation and explore the medina, the walled medieval city with maze-like alleys filled with markets selling fabric, pottery, and jewelry. Book a room at El Fenn, close to the main square of Jemaa el-Fnaa. Its guest suites and rooms sit below a large roof terrace with sundecks, hanging gardens, shaded dining areas, a roof-top putting green, and a swimming pool.
Lisbon, Portugal

Lovely Lisbon is a real something-for-everyone destination and has become increasingly popular with couples over the years, with more and more lovers looking to envelop themselves in the city’s glittering array of restaurants and attractions. Lisbon is for lovers, and lovers will find themselves wide-eyed in wonder at the gorgeous mixture of history and culture that informs the city streets. Lisbon might not be as classically gorgeous as Vienna or Amsterdam, but it’s the blemishes that make it beautiful. Every love is unique, right?
Iceland

Iceland can feel like another world: one filled with thrilling geysers, moon-like craters and the achingly gorgeous Aurora Borealis. There’s nowhere quite like it, and it’s that unique atmosphere that brings lovers here in search of something special. The eccentric side of capital Reykjavik is also plenty romantic in its own right. Looking for the perfect place to pop the question? There’s a black-sand beach at Jokulsarlon, where chunks of stranded sea ice sparkle like diamonds. Volcanic, like the early throes of passion, Iceland will particularly appeal to younger flames. Bathe in the warm geothermal waters of the world-famous Blue Lagoon and luxuriate in local mineral-rich silica spa treatments together before embracing under the electromagnetic otherworldliness of the northern lights.
Croatia

Irresistibly Instagrammable, the Dalmatian coast of Croatia is the ultimate tonic for couples seeking quality time together. Explore craggy limestone coves and islands by boat or lace up your boots to wander around the red-tile-roofed Unesco world heritage towns. Try avoiding peak summer, when cruise vessels overwhelm this coast. Instead, choose the shoulder seasons either side of summer to enjoy a more bearable Mediterranean climate, quieter old town streets, and intimate bars to toast your love with Dalmatian wine from the coast’s sun kissed vineyards.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being in a relationship is being able to enjoy such moments in the company of another. Whether you’re craving an adventure-packed itinerary or a wellness-focused paradise, these heavenly vacation spots are the epitome of timeless romance.
