Good morning all, hope everyone is ok. It has been a testing week that’s for sure, last Thursday I had my appointment with the doctor, who made us wait for half an hour to see him, he didn’t really do much, other than ordering a whole bunch of blood tests to be done as he wanted to check everything (I.E. full blood count, thyroid, celiac disease, liver, etc…) which I’m expecting it to come back normal, as that is usually the case for ME/CFS sufferers. If that happens, it will be back to the doctors again to see what happens next, unfortunately he’s going on holiday for 3-4 weeks within the next week or two, so I probably won’t be getting any answers or help anytime soon. Another thing that happened was one of the tires on my dad’s car split, when we left it in a car park for a couple of hours at a shopping mall whilst we looked around, we were stuck waiting for it to get fixed for over two hours before we could actually start our journey back to where we live. Because of all the things that happened including some private things, which I haven’t mentioned, my health took even more of a turn for the worse, so I’m struggling even more than before, but I’m trying to rest as much as I can and stay positive..
Moving on with this week’s post… One of the leading Hollywood actors of contemporary times, Sandra Bullock has made an exceptional mark in the industry in a career spanning over three decades. Be it her dazzling performance on the screen or her impressive acting talent, Sandra Bullock has always gained immense attention for her talent since the start of the 90s. Like the speedometer in the 1994 action picture “Speed”, Sandra’s career hasn’t decelerated since she took the wheel of a stolen transit bus. Her broad career and ability to tackle different genres have contributed to the Oscar winner’s continuing success on the big screen. She’s equally at home as the love interest in “The Proposal”, the tough companion in “The Heat”, or the insane stalker with a passion for crossword puzzles in “All About Steve”. An American actress, producer and philanthropist, she is known for her wit and humor both onscreen and off-screen. Bullock’s not just a great actress, she’s an inspiration, an icon and a successful business woman. At this point in her career, there seems to be little Sandra hasn’t done. So before I continue with this weeks post, I would like to say a huge Happy Birthday to one of my all-time favorite actresses in the world, the one and only Sandra Bullock.
Sandra Bullock

Biography:
Sandra Annette Bullock was born on July 26, 1964, in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Arlington County, Virginia, the daughter of Helga Mathilde, an opera singer and voice teacher from Germany, and John Wilson Bullock an Army employee and part-time voice coach from Birmingham, Alabama. Her father, who was in charge of the Army’s Military Postal Service in Europe, was stationed in Nuremberg when he met her mother. The family returned to Arlington, where her father worked with the Army Materiel Command before becoming a contractor for The Pentagon. Sandra has a younger sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, who served as president of Bullock’s production company Fortis Films. For 12 years, Bullock was raised in Nuremberg, Germany, and Vienna and Salzburg, Austria, and grew up speaking German. As a child, while her mother went on European opera tours, Bullock usually stayed with her aunt Christl and cousin Susanne, the latter of whom later married politician Peter Ramsauer. Bullock studied ballet and vocal arts as a child and frequently accompanied her mother, taking small parts in her opera productions. Sandra attended Washington-Lee High School, where she was a cheerleader and performed in school theater productions. After graduating in 1982, she attended East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina, where she received a BFA in Drama in 1987. She then moved to Manhattan, New York, where she supported herself as a bartender, cocktail waitress, and coat checker while auditioning for roles.

She appeared in several student films and later landed a role in an Off-Broadway play No Time Flat. Director Alan J. Levi was impressed by Bullock’s performance and offered her a part in the made-for-television film Bionic Showdown: The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman (1989). She went on to appear in several films, such as Love Potion No. 9 (1992) and The Thing Called Love (1993), before rising to early prominence with her supporting role in the sci-fi action film Demolition Man (1993). Her breakthrough came in 1994, when she played Annie Porter, a passenger eventually driving a bus that was rigged by a terrorist, in the smash-hit blockbuster Speed alongside Keanu Reeves. It received critical acclaim and grossed $350 million worldwide, and helped establish Bullock as a Hollywood actress. For her role, she won for Best Actress at the 21st Saturn Awards as well as three awards —including Best Female Performance and Most Desirable Female— at the 1995 MTV Movie Awards. She would later star in the romantic comedy While You Were Sleeping (1995) and The Net (1995). Then in 1996 she starred in A Time To Kill opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew McConaughey and Kevin Spacey, for which she received an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Female Performance. Bullock starred in the comedy Practical Magic (1998) alongside Nicole Kidman as two witch sisters who face a curse which threatens to prevent them ever finding lasting love. While the film opened atop the chart on its North American opening weekend, it flopped at the box office.

In 2000 Bullock took on the role of an FBI agent who must go undercover as a beauty pageant contestant in the comedy Miss Congeniality which became another financial success, with a global gross of $212 million. It earned her a second Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress. Bullock would then go onto star in Murder by Numbers (2002), Two Weeks Notice (2002). She would also act as the executive producer of the sitcom George Lopez (2002–2007), for which she made several appearances as Accident Amy. In 2009, Bullock starred in the romantic comedy The Proposal, opposite Ryan Reynolds, which grossed $317 million at the worldwide box office, making it her fourth-most successful picture to date. She was awarded the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Actress in The Blind Side. In 2013 she would star alongside Melissa McCarthy in “The Heat” and provided her voice for Scarlet Overkill, the villainous character in the animated film “Minions” (2015). In 2018 she would star in an all-female cast “Ocean’s 8” a spin-off of the Ocean’s 11 franchise, and Netflix original Bird Box. Her most recent films she’s starred in were “The Lost City” a romantic comedy-action film co-starring Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt and Daniel Radcliffe and “Bullet Train” an action thriller film again starring Brad Pitt (both 2022).

Sandra has been dubbed “America’s sweetheart” by the media in reference to her “friendly and direct and so unpretentious” nature. In the summer of 2005, Sandra married TV host Jesse James. Six years after the married couple adopted a son, Louis Bardo, however, their idyllic family wasn’t destined to last long. Mass media started to push the story about James repeatedly cheating on actress; Bullock immediately filed for divorce and continued to raise her son as a single parent. She would then go on and have a few romances (although rumored) with stars such as Chris Evans and Michael McDonald, until she found her true love around 2015 with photographer Bryan Randall. The couple raised the actress’ son Louis together (they met when Sandra asked Brian to hold a photoshoot for her son), and her daughter Laila, who she adopted in 2015. Sadly in June 2021, it became known that Brian and Sandra had broken up. She has been a public supporter of the American Red Cross and has donated $1 million to the organization at least five times. Her first public donation of that amount was to the Liberty Disaster Relief Fund. Three years later, she sent money in response to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunamis. In 2010, she donated $1 million to relief efforts in Haiti following the Haiti earthquake and again donated the same amount following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. She donated $1 million in 2017 to support relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey in Texas. In July 2022, after finishing work on “The Lost City” and “Bullet Train”, Sandra Bullock announced a break from her career. After breaking up with Brian Randall, due to work, she could no longer devote enough time to her children, so for now has made the decision to stop filming for a while to be with them.
